What kind of RSS feeds can I submit?

Actual RSS or XML version .91 1.0 or 2.0 we don't accept RDF files because of the structured display nature of that type of file.

I didn't get my banner code in my mailbox where is it?

You didn't receive an email from us because we didn't send any. RSS Junky is not building or selling a mailing list. Your email is only on file for legal reference as to who submitted the RSS feed itself, originally.

Someone else submitted my RSS feed are they stealing my traffic?

No it’s impossible to steal someone else's traffic by submitting their feed. We get the channel data from the feed itself so the original site retains the promotion. However if you don't place the stats banner on your site your content will not receive the higher PR ranks and better linking available to those who do.

Yesterday I was Number 1 in the directory now I am at the bottom, why?

We periodical and random reset of the stats tracking on all sites to prevent cheaters from hiding the banner on a hidden links page and receiving high ranks over a long period of time. Each reset re-shifts all the sites in the directory and they are re-ranked in Real time based on our ability to count your visitors. If you hide the banner or delete it. Your visitors won't be tracked at all and you will be at the bottom of the directory.

What is with all the sex site stuff, are you targeting that market?

NO, we are not targeting the sex industry. The Sex industry just happens to seek out cutting edge promotion campaigns and make the most use of them early. Being a strong believer in the first amendment while I don't want a site littered with sex site information, I will not exclude them. Each RSS feed has its own individual promotion so the content of other RSS feeds will not effect your rankings or results. The fact that the sex industry has jumped on board RSS Junky with both feet shows that our techniques work and we feel good about that in general.

What is the point to keeping feeds that no one is really monitoring?

Site owners who submit to RSS Junky then never place the code run the risk of being found out by the major search engines as garbage sites at a much faster rate. Since we periodically reset the stats the cream keep rising to the top and search engines are seeing the value in that. The RSS Junky system is actually getting the spammer to tattle on themselves and helping to clean up the internet one RSS link box at a time.

Why is my Image not updated or broken altogether?

We cache your channel data as this information is something that doesn't ever change. If you updated your logo, description, title of your feed. Simply resubmit your RSS feed and the new channel data will be read and updated immediately to your sites RSS Page. This will not effect your tracking or promotional linking.

How do I ping the directory when my content is updated?

You don't. Pinging is an outdated concept used by Hard-drive caching directories. Our system is cutting edge and your content is always updated on our site in Real time.

If you’re pulling my feed in real time won't that hurt my bandwidth?

The feed is only pulled when a REAL person reads the page or one of the major robots wants to index it. This is the very traffic that you seek when you promote your site. If you feel we are sending you TOO many visitors please let us know and we will happily delete you immediately. I suspect you will rather get a better hosting company.

Why does my feed take such a long time to display?

This is a question for you not RSS Junky. If your feed takes a long time or doesn't display you have a problem with your hosting and/or your XML itself. RSS Junky will not wait more than 5 seconds for a feed to respond. Our 1000 MB/Sec connections can handle tremendous load. Our servers will wait for the end users browser at 56k to catch up but that has nothing to do with your sites response to us.
